Looking to buy an historic farmhouse, the owners found 200 acres of rolling Piedmont countryside and fell in love with the idea of building their own house, just they way they wanted it. Their program specified three structures. A two-bedroom main house, a one-room guest cottage and a separate garage/farm machinery shed. In the end, they also had a garden structure built. Porches and patios were a must for the nature-loving owners. There are six in all.
Designed by architect David Neumann from D.C., this romantic red-roofed home was published in Traditional Home magazine as "Wanted: A Red Tin Roof". Click here to read article.
